BUILT OUR OWN
I left a dead-end 9-to-5 without a plan, but I had children counting on me. I kept pushing, trusting the process and believing something better was ahead. A community that believed in me helped me turn my dreams into action and start a business from the ground up. I had never been a public speaker, but I stepped up, told my story to a room full of strangers, and raised over $25,000 for my second box truck. What I'm most proud of is showing my family we can build something of our own. My late son Laffeyette stepped up and helped run the business, and that meant everything to me. The sky is the limit.
